Working with David Fox has had a most powerful and lasting effect on my professional life. Through his coaching, his primary focus has been to build confidence and affirm strengths, and use that position to help me address positively and effectively issues that were detrimental to my work and, over time, also to my health. My greatest regret is that I did not meet David at least 10 years' earlier. His work has left me with greater confidence and as such a better asset to the firm and more able to enjoy and contribute to life outside of work.
Partner (Head of Department) – Law Firm
Recent Projects
RG was a senior lawyer whose entire career (since being a trainee
with this firm) was centred on his role in this international firm.
When a major change occurred, which resulted in a planned career
move being denied, his whole world crashed around him.
This project required some sensitive and challenging interventions
in order to focus on his key skills, his major achievements and
the success attitude he could bring to future projects. Having
regained his confidence and composure he was then able to apply
his considerable analytical ability to develop the most appropriate
career plan for himself.
Over a period of three months with an appropriate blend of support
and challenge he made a clear plan for the future which he pursued
diligently and is now an equity partner in a major international
firm.
CE is a senior partner in this international firm who was looking
to gain clarity on possible career paths over the next five years.
Although confidence was not a major issue there were a number
of anxieties both personal and professional regarding an uncertain
future. By working through past successes and areas of passionate
interest this partner was able to craft a clear and energising
vision of the future.
These changes resulted in this partner assuming a more strategic
role in the firm.
WN suffered an unexpected setback which knocked
his confidence. With low self-esteem he was in no condition to
start the process of planning a career change.
Initially we worked on defining his success criteria and then
within a few sessions building his confidence and developing his
networking skills. With renewed confidence and a positive outlook
(which was commented on by his wife) he was able to create a clear
idea of the future he wanted. Taking this positive and successful
attitude into the market enabled him to present himself as a desirable
candidate.
He has now secured a position as partner in an international firm.
Being threatened with removal from a major partnership is serious.
Working with this partner over many months in a very challenging
environment we produced an extremely positive outcome. The partner
remained within the partnership and was increasingly seen to be
making a valued contribution.
Three recent projects have involved working at a distance: managing
transitions for clients in India, Dubai and South Africa. In all
cases we formed an initial relationship in London and all subsequent
meetings took place through a combination of telephone calls and
e-mail support.
